MACROMOLECULES: CHEESE LAB
INTRO:
In this lab we observed the different methods of curdling milk and then add our own twist to the experiment. Then we analyzed different macromolecules in the cheeses. Macromolecules are molecules that our body needs but we can not produce them by ourselves.

REFLECTION:
During this project my group and I managed our work during the actual lab well. We got through all of the experiments on time and without much trouble. I was able to be a real leader in that group which I think helped us a lot. Those were two bright spots in the project. While the class put all of their data into the class set, we had trouble and needed another group member to help us which was a slight blip. When we wrote the write up above, I got close to zero help. I had to do almost all but 2 paragraphs myself and I had to drastically change those paragraphs due to errors. It was rough having to do that whole write up but it was doable and I managed it.

HOMEOSTASIS: WATER CONTENT
This was a do it yourself project where we were set off to prove the concept of homeostasis in our bodies. Homeostasis is basically how our body keeps balance in different areas. The area we chose to focus on was water concentration.

Homeostasis: the tendency toward a relatively stable equilibrium between interdependent elements, especially as maintained by physiological processes.
Water Content: The weight of the water contained in an object or material
Kidneys: Either of a pair of two bean-shaped organs located in the abdominal cavity in vertebrates, and functions by filtering bloodof wastes to be eliminated from the body
Gastrointestinal Tract:The portion of the alimentary canal from the stomach to the intestines
Respiratory Tract: The air passages from the nose to the pulmonary alveoli

In retrospect we should have realized we hadn't actually proven homeostasis because we did not think to weight ourselves when our weight went back to normal on the same day. Eventually, four days later, we ended up re-weighing ourselves which technically still proved homeostasis. We did a good, efficient job on our poster and I got slightly more help on that which was nice. Also not great at the same time. In all I was happy to get to ,had another project and do work that, in the end, I was proud of.
