The goal of this project was to solve a made up murder mystery given to us by our teacher. We were given sets of clues listed in the power point and we used forensics to figure out what people matched what evidence.
Content:
-1st Degree Murder - murder that is willful and premeditated
-Phenotype - set of traits of an individual resulting from the interaction of its genotype with the environment
-Gene - the genes are the sequences of DNA that code proteins and gives organisms their traits
-Genotype - the genetic constitution of an individual organism
-Dominant - when an allele takes precedence over the recessive allele
-Recessive - when an allele isn't expressed when paired with a dominant allele
-Karyotype - image of what your chromosomes look like
-Family Pedigree - chart of shapes that stand for diseases, males/females, alive/dead, and different traits
-Ink Chromatography - ink is exposed to a solvent which causes it to separate the colors

Reflection:
I think the project went fairly well. My group got our presentation done quickly and I think we did a good job. Also we did all of the experiments and got good data from them. I learned how to use ink chromatography from when I had to take lead to find how it worked. and figured out that i sourced and remembered information well because of the big breaks in-between experiments and presentations. We could have organized our data better because we had to scavenge through binders and folders to find everything that we needed. Also I could have done a better job communication with my group. We accidentally made two different presentations, only oe of which you see at the top because we used this one to present to our class.
